FELONS WITH A FUTURE

New Beginnings

Working on the curriculum for the 12 week course, I’m excited as I am watching what started as a dream laying on my rack at Pickaway Correctional Institution in 2009 thinking how could I help others and myself from returning back to places like that. It downed on me that maybe helping others to start their own business my be a way to help others from returning to the streets. Having pride in your own business gives a person something to strive to stay on the outside and out the streets. So with that vision and thought “Felons With A Future” was born. Over the next 11 years I worked on changing my life so that I might serve as an example of what can happen if you put in the work. Starting a a couple businesses of my own and building ties in the community, I came to the point where I knew it was time to move from the dream stage to setting a goal stage, to the putting things into motion stage. Riding the momentum from my run the primary for Montgomery County Commissioner, I started the paperwork to get this organization off the ground. So as we move forward others have step up and said they want to get involved. It’s Time For A Change was my slogan during my run so we are in the stage of making that change.
